Denard Norton, a warehouse worker for Black Amazon, has filed a lawsuit alleging he was “passed over for promotion and that his immediate superiors at the East Windsor facility where he worked racially allegedly racist him.” described “. Norton said he attempted to report the issue to Amazon’s ethics hotline, but of the more than 30 complaints submitted, 22 were deleted from Amazon’s employee portal.

Norton alleged that Biggs denied him vacation time without explanation the following month, despite following proper procedure to apply for leave. Norton filed another complaint in early October alleging he heard Biggs called him the N word.

The lawsuit states: “Mr. Norton’s concerns began in February when he suffered an injury and reported it to a manager whose refusal to report for several hours resulted in treatment being delayed. “Weeks later, Norton’s manager allowed him to wear the glasses after filing another ethical complaint about the situation,” the lawsuit said. “Norton suffered from headaches, anxiety, blurred vision, nausea, tears in his eyes, and pain in the weeks he was not allowed to wear his glasses.”
The Amazon employee is suing for damages, including emotional distress, bodily harm, back payment, and reinstatement.
